Gurupurab is celebrated to mark the birth of their first Guru , Guru Nanak Dev Ji , to keep the traditions alive , pioneers of education and Guru Shishya relations and reminding the importance of Righteousness, Ideals , Dedication and Service.
Our School , G.D. Goenka Public School , Paschim Vihar , organised a visit to near by Gurudwara for the tiny tots of Grade Nursery and Kindergarten. They were very excited about this new experience as they covered their heads before entering the Gurudwara. They paid their due respect to the Holy Book - Guru Granth Sahib , said a small prayer and also relished Kada Prashad .
The celebration continued with a Prabhat Pheri followed by Nagar Kirtan in the school campus , reciting shabads , kirtan with musical instruments , students participated in the procession led by the ‘Panj Pyare’ holding the Nishan Sahib’ followed by pyari sangat chanting ‘ Satnam Waheguru’ . Kadha Prashad was distributed during the Prabhat Pheri.
A short and pious journey ended with a big smile and the students enjoyed and learned to respect all religions.
