Coffee with Moms

"The Mother’s heart is the child’s first school-room"_

Following this dictum, G D Goenka Public School, Paschim Vihar conducted an event called ‘Coffee with Moms’ which was led the students of Grade II. The event was organized to provide students with a memorable school experience with their mothers. It started with the chanting of ‘Saraswati Vandana’, and was followed by a multitude of activities such as Zumba, Acrobats, and a couple dance. The mothers also participated in a Fashion Show and a Talent Hunt Competition. The mothers indeed enjoyed the event and were truly amazed by their little ones performances throughout the day.

Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore

GD Goenka Public School, Paschim Vihar celebrated the birth anniversary of the great Bengali poet, scholar, novelist, painter and philosopher, Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore on 9th May 2023. In order to pay homage to the life and works of Rabindranath Tagore, an array of activities such as Card Making(My tribute to Tagore), Sketching a Portrait, Essay Writing, and Book Cover Designing were organised for the students of Grades III to XII. All the students participated with a lot of enthusiasm and fervour, and learnt immensely about this legendary figure.

National Technology Day

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C. Clarke

GD Goenka Public School , Paschim Vihar observed the National Technology Day on May 17, 2023 within its premises by organizing a plethora of activities for classes across the school.

The poster-making activity by students of class VII&VIII; an informative video for class III-V; the debate on Youth and Innovation among students of IX & X and essay writing on The Future of Technology by students of XI & XII were the highlights of the day.

Overall, the National Technology Day celebration at GD Goenka Public School appears to have fostered a spirit of innovation, creativity, and intellectual growth among the students. It's inspiring to see young minds engaging with technology and contemplating its potential impact on society.

Taekwondo Championship under Junior Category

“The road to success is paved with consistent hard work and resilience.”

It’s a glorious moment that fills our heart with pride as our shining young Goenkans bring laurels home and scale new heights. With an attitude to learn and persevere our students have made a mark , yet again in Taekwondo Championship under Junior Category. Prashish of Grade I and Aairah of Grade III won Gold Medal as they bagged Ist position in the competition which was conducted by Xth Students Olympic Association Delhi State Games, 2023-2024 on 14th May, 2023. Execution, sharpness, presentation, confidence, aura, and accuracy were the qualities that the judges looked out for. We congratulate our students and their dedicated mentor, Mr. Manish for this victory.

They have brought laurels to the school with their overwhelming results in CBSE Board Examinations for Grades X and XII.

Mothers’ Day Celebration

The day that celebrates the essence of motherhood is Mothers’ Day. Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, we at GD Goenka Public School, Paschim Vihar had a special celebration on Mothers’ Day on 15th May, 2023. The assembly began with a soulful prayer followed by a heartwarming enactment to depict the beautiful and inseparable bond shared between a mother and child. Goenkans danced to the tune of beautiful songs such as ‘Ungli pakad kar chalna sikhaya’ expressing their gratitude towards their mothers. This was followed by a foot tapping colourful performance on ‘meri pyari Maa’. Young goenkans also recited an emotional poem to portray their deepest love for their mothers. They also presented a few melodies that reiterate the importance of ‘Maa’ in our lives. Goenkans also honour their teachers for their immense care, love and affection and gave them roses as a token of love and gratitude. Principal ma’am concluded the assembly by sharing a heartfelt message of loving and respecting our mothers everyday and every moment.

Teacher Development Programme

Abdul M Choudhry had rightly quoted 'Rejuvenation is intrinsic and weekends are all about replenishment and rejuvenation '

On a fine sunny saturday , GD Goenka Public School Paschim Vihar had organised *Teacher Development Programme* for a fun rejuvenation of the teachers of classes IX to XII . All the teachers enjoyed the time to the fullest and took part in various recreational activities like Tug of war , Relay race and Dog 'n' the bone with utmost of enthusiasm and fervour. It was effervescent team building activity and ebullient and cheerful experience for all .

The lively and interactive session brought a greater degree of clarity regarding the career building roadmap for Goenkans after Class XII.

Labour’s Day celebration

“All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance, and hence should be undertaken with painstaking excellence”.

The students of GD Goenka Public School, Paschim Vihar celebrated the painstaking effort of the labour force, that work tirelessly, with the great zeal on this Labour’s Day. The celebration commenced by acknowledging the work and the selfless services of the supporting staff, the security members and the cleaning staff. The children thanked the support staff by putting self made Thankyou Cards on Gratitude Wall as a token of love for the priceless contribution of the workers which leads to the smooth functioning of the institution.

The support staff was overwhelmed and thanked the School Management, Principal, Vice Principal, teachers and the students for their small act of kindness.

We have always believed that it is small acts of kindness that count and we attempt to inculcate that same virtue in our children.
