Ganesh Chaturthi Puja

Festivals build group cohesiveness, bring people together, break the monotony of routine, and energise the body, mind, and spirit. Echoing this festive spirit, the Pre-primary students of GD Goenka Public School, Paschim Vihar celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with much zeal and enthusiasm. A small puja was done by the young Goenkans in the school premises along with Principal ma'am and Vice Principal ma’am. Children are taught about the significance of the festival and the importance of eco-friendly ways of celebrating the festival , followed by Prasad distribution among the kids.

    Plantation Drive

    GD Goenka paschim vihar celebrated the plantation drive with great zeal and enthusiasm. It is an annual event to create awareness about environment. The celebration started with generating awareness regarding importance of plantation in metropolitan cities like Delhi. During plantation drive students of eco club planted the saplings of various perennial flowers such as China rose(Hibiscus), Alstonia,Champa(Magnolia champaca) Jasmine, Ashoka(Saraca asoca), Aamla(Phyllanthus emblica) in the school premises. They even took oath to monitor the growth of the saplings planted by them and plant more trees in their houses and neighborhood.

      Janamashtmi Festival Activity
      "Every moment of life is worth a celebration. The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate."
      The festival of Janamashtmi signifies excitement, euphoria and a joyous spirit of enthrallment. Keeping the lively spirit of the festival in mind, the students of Grade III - VI showed their exemplary creativity through the medium of various activities such as Flute decoration, Dahi Handi decoration, Crown making for Krishna, Duet Dance Competition and many more. The students were highly applauded for their unique ideas and creativity which added more spark and joy to the festival.

        Rangoli Inter-House Competition

        Rangoli is a traditional form that brightens up an occasion and is believed to be harbinger of good luck. Unique patterns are created on the floor using coloured rice, flowers, coloured sand or paints. Keeping up with this thought, the talent and creativity of the students was well brought out in an Inter-House Competition which was organized on 16th August 2022, for the students of Grade VII- VIII on the occasion of Janamashtmi. The students put their best foot forward and took part in the competition with enthusiasm. The students of Teresa House secured the first position , followed by Vivekanand House in the second place.

          75th Independence Day

          The students of G.D Goenka Public School, celebrated the 75th Independence Day with much gaiety and excitement. They participated in the Inter Class Competitions such as Flag Making, Tri colour fireless cooking, Tri colour T-shirt painting and many more. These activities brought out their imagination and creativity while making wonderful crafts.

            Rakshabandhan Activity
            Sister's love is no less than a blessing
            Even if he is far away, I don't feel sad.
            Often relationships fade away from distance
            But the love between sister and brother never fades
            The Goenkans celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan where children of Classes 3 to 5 participated in the "Sing a Song" activity to strengthen the eternal bond between siblings. Meanwhile Classes 6, 7 and 8 children exhibited excellent examples of their creativity while participating in Picture Collage of Siblings, Rakhi- Thali Decoration and Fireless Cooking respectively to inculcate the feeling of love and affection between siblings.

              SMAAASH

              The G D Goenka Public School, Paschim Vihar students from Classes VI to VIII had an excitement- filled break from their studies when they visited SMAAASH, A Global Indoor Entertainment and Learning Centre , at Dwarka . The young Goenkans had an amazing time playing several games such as Bowling, Cricket , Magic Hockey , Finger Coaster , Tug Of War, Punch King , Dance Face-off , Rockin & Rollin , Galloping Basket and many more. The dance floor, too, was jam packed with the students moving to the latest beats. The scrumptious meal that was served recharged everyone and the kids were soon ready for more action. This excursion brought in much-needed fun and enthusiasm in the otherwise busy and serious daily routine. The outing also provided an opportunity for the facilitators and learners to bond with each other.

                It is indeed true ' a sibling may be the keeper of one 's identity , the only person to call our own .
                On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan . A special assembly was organized by Grade 3 students , where children had showcased their graceful and beautiful performances thus making an event , the most memorable and successful .
